My thoughts about reasons for the legalization of cannabis.
1. Cannabis was not banned internationally until 1961, when its inclusion in an international convention
was lobbied by lumber and chemical manufacturers (particularly Dupont)),
the reason for lobbying is competition.
2. Until 2017, there were no deaths from marijuana use (The first case was associated with the fact that
that an 11-month-old child inhaled smoke after his parents smoked indoors)
3. Based on data from the publication "Drug harms in the UK: a multicriteria decision analysis" (The Lancet magazine)
it can be concluded that legal tobacco and legal alcohol are more harmful than marijuana.
4. The illegal status of cannabis contributes to undue concern among people who use it.
